Some members have had trouble with swipe cards that are not working in the always tricky card readers. The DEC Fleet Management facility is of particular concern because if your card doesn’t work you are locked in the facility. Check your cards to make sure that they work, and report to Building Management if they don’t. PEFencon will continue to raise the swipe access issue to management attention.

Paid Leave for Breast Cancer Screening Reminder: Male and female employees may take up to four hours of paid leave annually during their regular work hours (including travel) for screening for breast cancer (physical exams and mammograms) and code this absence to 0312. Appropriate medical documentation stating that the absence was for the purpose of breast cancer screening will be

required and should be submitted directly to the employee's supervisor. (Most providers have standard "medical excuse notes" like you used in grade school.)

Ths year the Outing will be at Van Patten Golf Course in Jonesville on August 8. The cost is $55 and includes golf, cart, prizes, and a hot and cold buffet with beer and soda. Please see any steward for details.

1) Take no food into stairwell during a drill - could cause a hazard for everyone that has to follow you 2) Exit by your designated stairwell - Floors 2-5 use outside stairwells, 6-14 use inside stairwells to ensure a better flow for all employees

3) Remain calm and quiet - it is difficult for the marshals to hear over the radios when it is too noisy.
